Fossilized, feathered, and rock finds of the day. The mountains I climed today were once ancient sea beds, which made finding fish, shell, and plant fossils possible. They have risen 3,500 feet from where they once were.
The ranch I spent the day on had close to forty wild horses roaming around minding their own, eating the grass that has been absent from the desert for the past three years due to a draught, today was one of the first times it has rained in three years. (at Diamond Tail Ranch)
Today’s events included digging for fossils, hiking the mountains of New Mexico, interpreting thousand year old petroglyphs, and visiting hundred year old mining towns. What did you do today? (at Albuquerque, New Mexico)
